The Sacred Space Campus
Improvement project is the
culmination of work
completed by two committees
and their respective
architects over the past
two years. Focused on
enhancing our experience of
the divine, one committee
has looked at creating a
more accessible and
functional sanctuary and
the other an adjacent
memorial garden for
reflection, prayer and
honoring of loved ones.
Conceptual drawings,
preliminary plans and
design narratives for each
portion of the proposed
project are provided for
review and feedback.
Memorial Garden
The Memorial Garden
project uses the space
north of the sanctuary to
provide church members with
a serene, peaceful space
that stimulates reflection,
gives comfort and promotes
conversation. The Garden
also provides a beautiful
outdoor space in which we
can remember loved
ones.
Our congregation is
growing and changing. The
current layout of narthex,
nave and chancel are built
around a traditional model
for a house of worship.
This layout no longer works
as well as it once did for
clergy, lay and musicians
leading worship or for
congregants participating
in the service. As we
prepare for our future, the
sanctuary needs to
accommodate the changing
needs of the congregation
and support our focus on
transformational
worship.
Here is a twelve minute
video tour of our proposed
changes. We encourage you
to watch the video in its
entirety and to ask us any
questions you may have.
