Children & Worship
We love children and never prize a perfectly meditative decorum over the bustle and joy of having little ones in worship. Each Sunday, children come into the sanctuary with their families for the first 15 minutes or so of our worship service. After a moment especially for children, where the young ones are invited forward to hear a message of God's love from one of our ministers, the church school teachers lead them off to Church school, where they will learn the great stories of the Bible and enjoy crafts and games.
Once a month our Sunday church services are geared entirely towards families. In addition to Church School, we also provide infant and toddler care during worship service time.
Family Worship is a unique aspect of our Christian Education program. Seven Sundays a year, our children and youth are the writers and designers of the worship service. On Family Worship Sundays, the youth lead the prayer, read the scripture and often dramatize the theme of the day. Their expertise and creativity produce a beautiful service, one that church members appreciate. The occasion also makes the statement that our children and youth feel completely at home in the Sanctuary!
Infant and Toddler Care
Where do you go when your infant needs some TLC when you are sitting in worship? Come to the Infant Room. The room is right near the sanctuary furnished with a rocking chair, changing area and infant toys. In this room you can sit with your child for a while and hear the sermon or leave him or her with our Nursery Mom, Lili Ruiz, who is there to assist you. A Toddler Room is available in the Christian Education building for those youngsters who are walking and exploring and need more space and activity during the Sunday morning worship. Our Nursery assistants will make sure your children are carefully watched. The Toddler Room is a warm and caring place for little children where they will receive love, attention and a snack!
